PEKANBARU (RP) - Furthering discussion about Kampar Peninsula  polemic, joint  Commission between A, B and C Riau  Provincial Parliement held a meeting on  Thursday (14/1) in medium room. Chaired by Riau Provincial Parliement , H. M Johar Firdaus MSi, this meeting presenting  the related authorities in provincial government  which are:  Assistant Governor I; Abdul  Latif,  Provincial Forestry, Provincial Environmnet Body, even RAPP presentation which  is known as lawyer.

The presence of RAPP presentation then causes dispute between one of Commission B  member, H Jefri Noer with the chairman H.M Johar Firdaus. It is known that RAPP  representatives is not invited and they were brought by Provincial Government. As the  result of this quarrel, Jefri Noer finally walk out (WO) from the meeting.

” We did not invite RAPP representatives because its not the time.  I wonder how they can be presence in this meeting. I ask the chairman in what capacity they come into this  meeting, but the chairman answer is not clear until he ask RAPP representatives to  explain their capacity. The chairman should be serious in handling community issue”,  Jefri confirmed his disappointing by leave the meeting until its ended.

After  Jefri walk out  from the open meeting, seemingly  Johar still get tension, then  directly send question to Provincial Government about the RAPP representatives  capacity.  This Golkar politician finally ask RAPP representatives to leave the meeting. ‘’  You should inform us if you want to join to this meeting. Please tell your leader  they  should behave in this institution,” Johar said to RAPP representatives before the  representative leave the room meeting.  

The meeting then continue, one of the issue discussed is about  RAPP land expansion.  Many disputes take place. Every parliament member has their own argumentation.  Member of Commission B in average support the pulp and paper company to make some  effort to rehabilitate the environment. But other parliament member has different opinion.

‘’It is big and serious problem. All related parties should be invited, including Ministry of  Forestry so he can give clear explanation about this matter, so it will be clear for all of  us,” AB Purba explained.

After long quarrel, the meeting agreed to continue to discuss about this problem  in  Special  Committee (Pansus). Therefor, Spceial Committee should be arranged.  

‘’Actually we are not yet allowed to establish Special Committee because our Legislation  Body is not yet formed,” Johar explained.  

In the other part, Public Relation Manager of PT RAPP Nandik Sufaryono said that   RAPP representatives presented to that meeting because the meeting is open for public.   When they were in the room, the secretariat staff asked them to changes  sit. It might be some mistake and miscommunication, he said. (hpz)
